Mitsui has agreed to invest in one of Indonesia’s leading food distribution and cold-chain logistic companies, PT Pangan Lestari, which provides a wide variety of food products to major retailers, restaurants, hotels, and other customers throughout the country, leveraging its strong cold-chain logistics capabilities.
This investment comes on the back of strong population and GDP growth in Indonesia, which is expanding a consumer market that is also becoming increasingly diversified in its tastes.
Mitsui will work together with Pangan Lestari to improve distribution and logistics efficiencies, to tackle social issues such as reducing food waste and easing traffic congestion. Mitsui will help scale up Pangan Lestari’s business, leveraging our knowledge and expertise in food distribution and cold-chain logistics.
